Wow we have been busy! We moved AGAIN! Our house sold in 4 days! Yikes! It was bittersweet to say goodbye to our home on Palmer Green. We are excited though for the future and whatever it may hold. In the meantime with our house selling so quickly we are staying with my parents until we find our next home.

Goodbye Palmer Green. You were a great home! (these were the pictures done for our realtor to use)

doors, doors, and more doors!

I always wanted to have all black interior doors.  I love the contrast it brings into a home. I was a little scared of going solid black so I did a little research on other homes that had painted interior doors and came up with a couple colors I liked. I wanted something a little softer than the harsh contrast of white trim, beige/gray walls and black so I found a great dark brownish black color - Night Horizon BM

Here was my inspiration picture… (from Maria Beck Design)

I went to the hardware store, got the paint and came home ready to tackle 20 some doors! CRAZY!
Well, I didn't love the color when I started painting the back of the front door. It was way to brown so I took it back and asked if they would put a little more black in the paint. They did and it was SO much better.
It took me a long time to get all the doors painted. I hate to admit but the downstairs doors where done for probably a couple months before I even started the upstairs. Oh well, who goes upstairs anyways!

Wrought Iron…paint that is!

Next on the list was the hall bathroom! I wanted to put up a chair rail to give the walls more interest and then paint the bottom a clean crisp white and the top I wanted a dark gray blue.  I found a beautiful deep gray blue on none other than Pinterest that I just loved! The color was Wrought Iron by Benjamin Moore.
So while Zay napped and Peyton hung out in the swing I painted away…

Later Jared came in and added the chair rail for me!  So much better than the plain, boring, beige walled bathroom.

Finished! Now we need some art!

Pallet Wall

I had told my husband I would hold off on house projects for a while after Peyton was born but if you know me that didn't last long. I'm always always doing/changing  something in the house. It was about week two after coming home from the hospital that we both decided we needed to do something to start making this house a home.
We had been talking about a pallet wall to warm up with living room and after much Pinteresting (is that a word?) we came up with a plan. The fireplace was the perfect wall for our pallets. I didn't want the whole wall to be pallets so we framed out the fireplace and above it to look like it had always been there. On the sides of the fireplace we put up the pallets.

Here are before pictures… (notice the lack of furniture)

During… Note: the TV was on a lot during the project to try and distract the kids from moving around while we worked! Ha!

After…
